Lovely Seat is a signed, limited edition print (1 of just 5), based on my original painting inspired by the quiet, expansive slopes from Lovely Seat, near Buttertubs Pass in the Yorkshire Dales. In this piece, I’ve taken a simple, familiar landscape and abstracted it into expressive textures and flowing lines, creating a sense of quiet connection between the foreground and the distant hills.

Working initially in the landscape with watercolour and chalk paint, I captured textures and tonal movement as they shifted under changing light. In the studio, I added acrylic layers, allowing overlapping lines and shapes to emerge — a visual language that reflects both the physical geography and the emotional feel of the place.

The result is a piece that balances clarity and abstraction, rooted in the land yet open to interpretation. It’s printed on Hahnemühle 310gsm etched paper, which holds the fine detail and painterly textures beautifully. Each print is signed, numbered, and comes ready to frame.
