Homage to Swimming Sculpture at Barceloneta

This sculpture Homage to Swimming by Alfredo Lanz stands proudly on the seafront as you arrive at the Playa del mar beach at Barceloneta from the cable car.  It's wonderful figurative stretches curl through the palm trees over seeing the the long stretch of sand in front.  It adds expression and recognition of human achievement in what would otherwise be a rather plain and grey paved arrival.  It's iron coloured graceful line fills the sky, in a giant silhouette reminding us to look up, pause, think and connect us to what we can do well.
